He wasa trombonist in a band and met his wife Carmen/Lee Bonvissuto who wasthe girl singer and married her. When the dance halls closed, heapprenticed for four years to become a music engraver, a process thatis now a lost art, but the only way sheet music was done then. Theyused tools and dye to stamp in notes and lyrics, then made plates ofalloy and timone and printed the sheets on a star press, according tohis daughter Elsie. While raising his children Elsie and Lisa, theylived all over the Los Angeles basin in the valley and Burbank. Hefollowed his partner in the business to Ojai, California and livedthere and passed away there in 1981. There was a piece done in theOjai Valley News about his profession at one time.
