Leslie Brooks Beck

Brooks started playing piano and guitar by ear at an early age. Hestarted a band as a teenager and played on local Oklahoma City TV,winning the "Battle of the Band." After being drafted during Vietnam,he drove out to California to play with his band in the clubs in S.California. He had a modicum of success for the next 20 years as amusician and had a large local following in the Newport Beach/LagunaBeach area during the 1970s. He plays for pleasure today.

Spent a happy childhood in Oklahoma City with a large extended family.His mother had 9 brothers and sisters and his father had 7 siblings somany first cousins were a part of his life and activities. Familyreunions include hundreds of people. His interest in music and guitarbegan with the influence of his Uncle Eddie Bridges and continuestoday. His main focus in life for many years was music, playingprofessionally until 1978. He has a wonderful deep voice and singsbeautifully. Has always loved children and is a loving father to histwo girls, Chelsea and Savannah. Worked as a photo lab technicianfrom 1978-1986. Then took vocational courses to become a computerprogrammer.

Gina and Brooks divorced in 1995. Moved to work in Cincinnati, Ohio,then back to Oklahoma City, OK and on to Denver, Colorado in 1998where he lives now with Cathy DeMuzio.
