Biography
Sarah was divorced by her husband, and in New Haven divorce papers heaccuses her of a liaison and names the man. AL Howard was away as amercenery most of their marriage and I have a feeling that she simplybecame lonely and desolate at the absenses. The letters betweenNelson and his father AL Howard indicate that he was a very judgmentaland controlling man who dictated to everyone around him. It appearsthat he did not have a great relationship with some of his childrenand I'm sure a divorce in those days was a trauma. The children didlive with him in Canada at one time, which means they did not livewith their mother and she is buried with the Newgeons. She remarriedafter her divorce.
