Isham's obituary in the "Columbus Enquirer"states the following: "As an instructor of youth, a pursuit to whichour deceased brother gave many years of his useful life, heaccomplished much good. He was attentive, laborious, faithful andcompetent, and it was his pleasure as it was his pride to have givendirection to the early studies and mental training of some of the mostdistinguished men in Georgia." In 1860, Lezina (Daniel) Brooks wasliving with her son, Joseph Brooks, in Talbot County, Georgia.
