Helen F. STEWART, 84, of Waterhaven Apartments, died from an apparentstroke at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Hospital. She was admittedTuesday morning.
She was born Oct. 14, 1898, in Russellville, Ind., to William andMargaret FORD. She moved to Rochester in 1937 from Versailles, Ind.,when her husband became co-owner of the Rochester Lumber co. Shemarried Lewis H. STEWART Sept. 30, 1932, in Roachdale, Ind. He diedJune 26, 1961. She had been an employee of the Fulton County Libraryfor 43 years. She was a member of the First United PresbyterianChurch, Friends of the Fulton County Library, American LegionAuxiliary, Alpha Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority and the Fulton CountyRSVP.
She is survived by a son, L. Hadden [STEWART], Rochester; fivegrandsons; William, [STEWART], Marion; Robert [STEWART], Middletown;Stephen [STEWART], Muncie; Jonathan [STEWART], Ft. Campbell, Ky., andMichael [STEWART], Anderson, and three great-grandchildren. Onegrandchild, two brothers and a son, James R. [STEWART], preceded indeath.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Zimmerman Brothers FuneralHome, Rochester, the Rev. Peter PASCOE officiating. Burial will be atthe Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m.Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. The familyrequests that memorials be made to the Friends of the Fulton CountyLibrary.
