The body of E N Talbott, who died in Baltimore, Md. will arrive herethis afternoon over the Panhandle at 1:30 and will be taken to thehome of his daughter Mrs. A W Tucker, 1119 Broadway. From there thefuneral will be held on Friday morning at 10 o´clock, services beingconducted by the Rev. Grandstaff and burial will follow in Mt Hopecemetery.

Educated at Asbury University, entering at 15 years old. Ill healthrequired him to enter Berea College in Ohio, leaving there to be amerchant in Indianapolis, in partnership with Trumbull G. Palmer.Moved to Des Moines, IA until 1864. Became trader for the CreekNation of Indians, appointed by President Lincoln. Because of illhealth he had to resign the position and in 1866 came to Logansport,IN and engaged in the manufacture and sale of lime and agricultureuntil 1879. Dec. 1879 appointed postmaster of Logansport until 1885.He did farming and real estate afterward and and important factor inCass Co. politics, being elected chairman of the Republican CentralCommittee in 1878. Married 12/13/1859 to Emma M. Dunn, daughter ofMaj. James W. Dunn. She died 1873, leaving 5 children. In 1875, hemarried Fannie M. Sammis of Brooklyn, NY. Both were active members ofthe Presbyterian Church of Logansport, Indiana.
