Dietz, Dr. William C. 92 Sept. 05, 1919 May 09, 2012 Dr. William"Bill" C. Dietz or "Doc" as his family, friends and patientsaffectionately called him, was born to Reverend Henry and Laura DietzSept. 5, 1919 in Sidney, Ohio. They moved from Ohio to Denver, Colo.where he spent his childhood. The family moved to Portland in 1936where he attended Washington High School. Doc graduated from WheatonCollege in Illinois where he met his loving wife, Alma Farmer. Fromthere he went to OHSU Dental School and joined the Army. In 1946 afterWWII Doc and Alma settled in Portland where together they built athriving Dental practice in the Mt. Tabor area and had a family. Docalways said "I was so blessed doing what I loved for a living. Neveronce did I feel like I was going to work." Throughout his life healways gave God the credit for the blessings he received and he lovedhis Lord Jesus Christ. He was always active in church working with theyouth and young married couples, primarily at Lake Grove and Mt. TaborPresbyterian Churches with Alma. Later, he attended Rolling HillsCommunity Church. Doc had many interests but flying model airplanes,motor homing, boats, playing the organ, ice skating and ham radio werehis favorite hobbies. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Thompsonand her husband, Robert; daughter, Joan Cline; son, David Dietz andhis wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Cortney and Kelsey Cline and AlexaDietz. He was blessed to have two wonderful extended families theIrvines and Leavens. He lived a full life and will be greatly missed.At his request, no services will be held. Donations in Bill's memorymay be sent to Providence Hospice. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals,Cremation & Burial, Tigard.
