Anna Holmes Galpin

She had bright red hair and a very fair complexion which is where ourfamily\\'s red hair comes from. She attended Woodside Seminary inHartford, Connecticut as a girl. She had a brother who her sonscalled Uncle Rob (Robert Irving Galpin), but they did not know himwell or the Galpin family, as she died when her sons were young 1906.She apparently spent many winters in Orlando, Florida and was a socialfavorite in Orlando society at that time. Her wedding to NelsonHoward, took place at the West Presbyterian Church on 42nd Street inNew York City, the reception being at the Manhattan Hotel. We don\\'tknow much more about her because she died so young. Papa Howard nevertalked about her as he was happily married again to Natalie Rand (thewoman who became their mother) and her sons never asked.

She would have been 16 when she received it so it must have been fromher parents for her coming out party or a school graduation of somekind.
