Buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Brooklyn with grandfather NathanielWebber (1794-1867) and on same gravestone with wife Josephine(1869-1931).
Norman Garms remembers his grandfather Albert telling him about hisWebber ancestors:
He said they came from the Netherlands around 1658 and landed oneastern Long Island on the possible ships Moesman and Guilded Beaver. He remembers being told something about an indian princess of thelocal Nesaquake Tribe from Smithtown, LI. He thinks Captain NathanielWebber married twice and Fannie Mayer was his 2nd wife. Uncle Normanremembers that Albert and his wife Josephine went to live with Hazeland her family in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY possibly in the 1920s.Josephine had a stroke and is listed in the 1930 census as a patientin the Kings Co. Hospital in Brookilyn and later moved to Hollis,Queens, NY. Albert says that Aunt Mildred was married to a Quakerboy named Mark Killian and they lived in Reading, PA. In 1944,Mildred and Mark were 49 and 44 and Mildred died sometime after 1947.
Albert was apparently a sail maker for clipper ships and when theyfaded out, he made tents for Barnum and Bailey circus. The photo theyhave of him shows Albert sewing sails.
